We understand data as raw information with no judgement attached, and evidence is when data are used to try to prove or disprove a particular point. What citizens have access to - especially in relation to the climate crisis in Indonesia - is mostly data, and through voluntary activities may assist them in understanding or finding evidence for decision-making as well as identifying misinformation. Advocacy and communication are the main activities through which this is done.

Citizens can engage in advocacy to assist in putting evidence in everyday life by being an activist, participating in a campaign, sending emails to relevant figures and groups, and engaging in content creation (such as resources, graphics, videos, or art). Citizens can be valuable communicators using social media, public speaking, or organizing activities. We can use these step-by-step processes to tackle an issue and stop the same problems happening again by using evidence to minimize impact.
