Ileana Ciurea
Senior advisor, RISE (McMaster Health Forum)Ileana supported the creation of the McMaster Health Forum, and managed the implementation of the business plan and the development and implementation of the Forum’s programs. Currently, she assists the Forum Director in strategic enhancements of the Forum’s business model, including developing partnership and sponsorship agreements with government agencies, healthcare organizations and research institutes, identifying and implementing new opportunities, and promoting services to extend the reach of the Forum nationally and internationally. Her experience covers strategic planning, business innovation, development of large partnership networks and implementation of multi-faceted programs. She has held various senior executive and management positions with healthcare organizations in Canada and Europe. Prior to her work at the Forum, she was Implementation Manager with the Guidelines Advisory Committee (a joint group of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association), provided consulting services for the Toronto General Research Institute, University Health Network, and served as Chief Officer for Medical Affairs and Interim Vice-President with Canadian MedicAlert Foundation. Her interests focus on knowledge translation initiatives that support action-oriented health system policymakers and stakeholders in making evidence-informed decisions. Ileana holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest.
