Innovations in increasing the use of research in policy

John N. Lavis, Director of the McMaster Health Forum, recently presented at the 2015 NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation in Sydney, Australia. His presentation addressed various kinds of research, how it can inform government and highlighted innovations in increasing the use of research in policy.

"We need the evidence at the agenda-setting stage (which problems and causes we focus on), at the policy development stage (which options we pursue), and the implementation stage (how do we drive change in the system) - and we need to put that evidence into play in a political world," said Lavis.
