Incoming Scholar Opportunity for Students from Commonwealth Countries
As part of the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship in Strengthening Health Systems program, the McMaster Health Forum is offering financial support to 10 international graduate students to study at McMaster University during the 2018 Spring/Summer Term and learn about effective ways to strengthen health systems and contribute to their graduate education.
Visiting graduate researchers and students will have the opportunity to enhance their research skills through courses, workshops and the exchange of ideas with other graduate students under the guidance of faculty affiliated with the McMaster Health Forum.
There are two options available to international graduate students:
Option 1: QES Visiting Graduate Researcher
Students registered in either a master’s or doctoral program outside of Canada will have the opportunity to enhance their research skills through courses, workshops and the exchange of ideas with other graduate students under the guidance of faculty affiliated with the McMaster Health Forum. The work completed while with the McMaster Health Forum must be transferred to your home institution and be formally recognized as contributing to your graduate degree (e.g., as a course credit). It is up to each student to ensure the work will be recognized by their home institution.
Option 2: QES Visiting Graduate Student
Students registered in a doctoral program outside of Canada will be registered to take a course in McMaster University’s Health Policy PhD program. Upon completion of the course at McMaster each student will receive a McMaster University graduate course credit (Health Policy 798) which they can then transfer to their home institution. It is up to each student to ensure that the credit earned at McMaster can be transferred to their home institution.
This opportunity for international students will occur during the 2018 Spring/Summer Term (Monday 30 April to Friday 3 August). It will involve a combination of online work throughout the entire period and in-person work during the month of June 2018.
