Jean (Zhuo Jing) Wang
Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2017)At the time of the QE Scholarship, Jean was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program at McMaster University specializing in Global Health. Through her research experiences, she developed an interest in chronic disease management and health systems strengthening. She conducted a project at Mount Sinai Hospital with Dr. Sinha examining models of care in geriatrics and worked under the supervision of Dr. Lavis for a third year inquiry project.
As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Jean travelled to Melbourne, Australia to intern with the Australian Prevention Partnership Group. She assisted with initiatives that examine chronic disease prevention through a systems thinking perspective. She hoped that she would deepen her understanding of health systems research and how it can be utilized to address pressing health issues.
