Yina Shan

Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2018)

Yina is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University, specializing in Global Health. Her academic and community experiences have led to her interest in addressing health inequities through systems strengthening and evidence-informed decision-making.

As an outgoing Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Yina will be interning at the University of Sydney with the Planetary Health Platform. Her work will inform the development of regional policies and programs that address the health implications of sustainable food systems and thermal stress in urban environments. Through this internship, she hopes to gain critical insights into the process of harnessing evidence and multi-sectoral collaboration to drive systems change.
