Presenter: Natalie Montgomery Participants: Natalie Dimitra Montgomery, OHT Fellow, FLA OHT Dr. Kim Morrison, Executive Lead, FLA OHT Jen Lake (former North Toronto OHT Fellow) Dr. Jocelyn Charles (North Toronto OHT)
Our panelist pairs will talk about their experiences and share their learnings on engaging clinicians in two important ways. In the first half of the lunch and learn, starting within the OHT structure, Dr. Morrison and Dr. Charles would answer some rapid-fire questions (asked by the Fellows) related to engaging primary care in leadership. Topics include: identifying champions, leadership distribution models for working groups and OHT projects, payment structures / time allocation, equity, diversity and inclusion practices for primary care participation (gender, clinicians' roles, age, geography, practice types), overall recommendations for optimizing primary care participation. In second part, the OHT Fellows will address engaging primary care and incorporating their feedback in integrated care solutions and planning. They will each share a short case study and cast light on: The context and rationale for reflecting the primary care voice in integrated care solutions Case Study 1- the intersectionality of primary care engagement, change management and digital enablers vis a vis a universal electronic medical record transformation project. Case Study 2- clinicians’ integral role in reducing patient inequities when it comes to accessing interprofessional services in primary care.
