Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) will require a different approach to governance than most OHT partners are used to having. Collaborative governance is a governing arrangement in which leaders from organizations drawn from multiple sectors engage in a collective decision-making process that is deliberative, consensus-oriented, and directed to the achievement of a shared goal (in OHTs’ case, the quadruple aim). In this webinar, participants will explore collaborative governance including the potential forms that collaborative governance arrangements can take, important considerations when planning a collaborative governance arrangement that can work for the long term, and key points covered in the collaborative decision-making agreement (CDMA) templates that have been made available on the RISE website. The webinar will be hosted by John Lavis, a co-lead of RISE, alongside three panelists from OHTs who will discuss their approach to collaborative governance to date. This webinar will introduce newly approved OHTs to the concepts needed to begin developing their CDMA, however it may be useful for cohort 1 OHTs to review key governance concepts and to learn about the approaches taken by other teams.
