Moriah Ellen

Adjunct Faculty

Moriah Ellen is an Investigator at the McMaster Health Forum’s Impact Lab. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Jerusalem College of Technology and a Senior Researcher at the Gertner National Institute for Health Policy in Israel. She was previously a post-doctoral fellow at McMaster University, working under the supervision of Dr. John Lavis. Moriah’s primary research interests are knowledge translation, health policy and systems, aging and health, and disinvestment within health care. Dr. Ellen has consulted both nationally (e.g., the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care) and internationally (e.g., the World Health Organization). 

Moriah holds an MBA in health services management and marketing from McMaster University and a PhD from the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation. During her time as a doctoral student, Moriah studied the relationship between clinical practice guidelines and efficiency. Her post-doctoral fellowship was in the area of health policy. She has delivered numerous presentations, published in academic journals and co-authored book chapters related to knowledge translation and health policy.
