Annie Xiong
GSO awardee in Developing Skilled Future Leaders in Strengthening Health and Social Systems (2024)Annie is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. Her main scholarly interests include public health, narrative medicine, and creative arts therapy. As a peer support volunteer at McMaster’s Student Health Education Centre (SHEC) and as a cast member of the Health Sciences Musical, Annie is committed to involving herself within her community.
As a Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) awardee Annie will be travelling to South Africa to work with the Pan-African Collective for Evidence (PACE). Through this experience, she hopes to learn more about evidence synthesis in the context of South African health systems. As well, Annie hopes to engage with local stakeholders to broaden her understanding of South African culture.
