Aunima Bhuiya

Co-Lead, Evidence Synthesis
Aunima Bhuiya is a Co-Lead of Evidence Synthesis at the McMaster Health Forum. Her role involves gathering evidence for the Forum’s knowledge syntheses, including rapid evidence profiles, living evidence profiles, evidence briefs and citizen briefs, on health system issues. Previously, she was a guest researcher at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention within the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention in Atlanta. She supported the Applied Research and Translation team’s efforts on U.S. state-level policy research and knowledge translation (including implementation and dissemination). Aunima also worked at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland as an intern in the Noncommunicable Diseases Department, and at the McMaster Health Forum as an undergraduate research assistant. Her research interests include knowledge translation/implementation science, knowledge syntheses, and health systems policy research. Aunima holds a Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and a Master of Science in Health Services Research from University of Toronto. Currently, she’s pursuing her PhD at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation situated within University of Toronto (supported by Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Doctoral Research Award (CGS-D).
