Peter Belesiotis
Fellow and Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2019)Peter is currently a final-year medical student at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and graduate of the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program, McMaster University. He was a recipient of the McMaster Health Forum Fellowship for the 2018/2019 academic year. Peter’s research interests include harm reduction programs, evidence-based care in cardiology, and the use of clinical whole exome and genome sequencing platforms. He aims to complete residency training in internal medicine.
As an outgoing Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Peter interned at the Africa Centre for Evidence (ACE) located at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa under the supervision of Prof. Ruth Stewart. During his internship, he created evidence syntheses for policymakers regarding public engagement with information and the news in Nigera and South Africa.
