Sultana Al-Sabahi
PhD Student and Research AssistantSultana is pursuing a PhD in Health Policy at McMaster University, and is supervised by Dr. Mike Wilson. Her doctoral research interests focus on priority setting in health systems, in particular understanding the role of local and global evidence in setting priorities. Sultana has an M.Sc. in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from Sultan Qaboos University from Sultanate of Oman. Her previous research as a graduate student focused on comprehensive health assessment of elderly people, including models to predict functional impairment, depression, and Alzheimer’s disease among the elderly. Before starting her PhD, Sultana worked at Ministry of Health in Sultanate of Oman in the Center of Studies and Research. In that role, she was involved in developing research priorities for the Ministry, including the development of the 2050 vision for health research and constructing the guideline of health research funding. She was also involved in training health professionals on different research methods, including statistical analysis.
