Tasnia Noshin

Tasnia is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program with a specialization in Child Health at McMaster University. Tasnia's main scholarly interests include health policy and promoting health and social equity among underrepresented communities. She is currently working as a research assistant for a Future of Canada project to understand the effect of COVID-19 in Racialized Communities in the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area: Experiences and Conceptualizations of Loss. She has also previously been part of a large-scale study aimed at understanding the impact of COVID-19 policy on epidemiology. She is excited to be co-president of the McMaster Interprofessional Student Collaborative, a student-run club within the Faculty of Health Sciences with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary care within healthcare professions.

As a Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) awardee, Tasnia will be in South Africa working with the South African Centre for Evidence (SACE) and National Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME); synthesizing evidence and working with relevant policy stakeholders to strengthen health and social systems. Through this experience, she hopes to gain a global perspective and valuable cultural experience.
